Table 1 Katz ADL Index. The Katz ADL Index is used to assess functional status. Patients are rated on independence (+/-) in each of six basic activities (bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, continence and feeding). A score of 6 (A) indicates full function and a score of 2-0 (E-G) indicates severe functional impairment [38].
